Art Classes

Local artist Charles Kovalick donates his time and talent offering class at the Noxen School Building. The cost of the class is $5.oo per month per student and all proceeds go to the Noxen Historical Community Art Class fund.

Classes last 10 to 12 weeks, both in the fall and spring and are held every Wednesday from 6pm - 10 PM.  Students may come and go as they like - missing a class will not put them behind on their painting because not one person is at the same place at the same time.  Ages of students have ranged from 10 to 90 years old and no experience is needed, as this is a beginner course. More experienced artists are always welcome, too, because they may in turn teach those who are helping others.

The funds collected go toward class supplies (lights, canvas, etc.) and also have been used to send one person (so far) to Luzerne County Community College for art classes for the past few years.

Additionally, students get a chance to present their work to family and friends at an art show which is held once a year in August.  Charles Kovalick hangs new paintings that day as well.  The artwork is on display all year long and everyone is welcome to see it anytime the Noxen School Building is open.
